Coronation – Volunteer Day – The Big Help Out
My contribution – I did an hour of Litterpicking today –
for the Big Help Out, promoted by King Charles.
This evening there is a Music Event at St Andrews Church, those invited by ticket celebrating those who ‘Volunteer’ here in our town.
I gave my ticket back to someone who also deserves to be recognised.

Coronation Music Events
The event in Coates, which organisers from WTC had put a great deal of effort into, was rained off – we can not control the weather.
Todays event at The Manor Field turned out much better with an estimated 300/400 people – another good family event.

Another Project By WTC – The Coronation Bench
You may be aware that last year, I put together a project for the Queens Platinum Jubilee – ‘The QEII Platinum Wood’ – some 55 generous sponsors and WTC purchased 105 Tree’s which Cllr Eamonn Dorling and Street Priders planted last December.
I am pleased to inform that most of the tree’s have taken well, and Eamonn and myself are regularly in the area.
There will be installed an ‘Interpretation Board’ + A Cycle Rack + A King Charles III Coronation Bench, in the near furture.
We hope to make the area (field at the end of Yarwells Headlands) a place to walk and enjoy the open views and of course the ‘Trees’ – it is disabled accessible.

My Thanks To Those Who Voted For Me – Whittlesey South
I am very humbled to have been elected as an Independent District Councillor for Fenland District Council. Consolation to the other two candidates and I thank them for putting themselves forward.

Like the ‘oscar’s – Thanks to my ‘team’ who helped and supported my campaign.
I’d like to think that my track record as a Town Parish Councillor has helped – who knows…
I will work with Cllr Kay Mayor who I hold in great esteem and I respect her for what she has achieved as a Councillor in the past.
I am here for everyone, those who did not vote for me – the 70% who did not vote at all.
The full results for both District and Parish Town can be found on FDC’s Website.

Time for a short rest to enjoy the sunshine and shower over this Coronation Weekend.

Trio Arrested Following Whittlesey Drugs Warrant
You may have seen, or be aware of, a large police presence in Whittlesey today.
We carried out warrants at two houses in Pinewood Avenue at about 10am where large amounts of cannabis were seized from both addresses, as well as cash from one.
Searches of the properties have been ongoing throughout the day.
Two men aged 34 and 53 and a 33-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
All remain in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station in Peterborough.
If you’ve got information or concerns about drugs, you can report via the dedicated drugs information page on our website.
