This item has been in the public domain and I am therefor informing the residents and electorate of what is happening.
I understand this is a ‘Teams’ online presentation, and there will be a ‘public’ event online at a later time.
Good afternoon Councillors
In July 2025, following concerns raised by the community in relation to the Saxon Pit site at Whittlesey and the potential impact on health, as well as reported breaches of planning and environmental control, Cambridgeshire County Council’s (CCC) public health team commissioned the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) to carry out a risk assessment.
This assessment will review the available monitoring data for air, water and land emissions from current activity at Saxon Pit, to determine whether there are any public health risks from on-site operations.
The process is being supported by partners including Fenland District Council (FDC), the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) and the Environment Agency (EA).
A briefing is being arranged for FDC Whittlesey Councillors and relevant Portfolio Holders. Details are as follows and an appointment will be sent shortly:
Member Briefing on Saxon Pit.

14:00 – 15:00

I am hoping to attend this online presentation – I have been invited.
