FDC Consultation For March
Watch this space there maybe a similar opportunity coming to Whittlesey (early days).
Note of course our Manor Field – ‘Fishing Platforms’ for all, was the idea of Roy Bridson, who approached Friends of the Manor’. Robert Windle and myself raised over £14,000 for the project, there was no WTC or FDC money involved. Maybe we should have waited (No).
The March scheme is out for consultation, some idea’s projects may come about and some may not.

“‘The Other Woman’” – Cert 12A
Stars Cameron Diaz
Funny, Smart and a real piece of enjoyment for all.
Cameron Diaz leads a knockout casting this irreverent comedy about love, lust and the laws of karma.
New York attorney Carly Whitten (Diaz) is nobody’s fool, so when she finds out her boyfriend (Mark) is really married she is far from thrilled.
Not only that, she and her Mark’s wife Kate(Leslie Mann) learn about another mistress.
However, the betrayed beauties become friends and the three-timing man gets taught a lesson.
The more the trio of women learn about Mark, the worse it gets, and the more fun they have without him…!

There are other interesting reports on the Toxico site about the chemical risks and the need for more biomonitoring :- https://www.toxicowatch.org/
The UKWIN site has some interesting data on Incineration capacity (IBA will be 20-30% of the total being burned). Link below.

Latest Saxon Works – Application Approved @ CCC

At this weeks Cambs CC Planning Committee – The latest application for the stabilisation of the Southern Butress @ Saxon Pit was considered and after a short debate – was passed
unanimously.
A presentation by Mr Stephen Rice, for the applicant gave an overview and addressed several concerns.
Written representation by The Saxongate Residents Group and Whittlesey Town Council were distributed to committee members before the meeting for consideration.
(The sides below may not be a full representaion of the presentation – watch the event on CCC’s livestream link above)
Now a question – not only with the County Council elections due in May, but the previous Town and District elections – How many promises were made by those seeking election to help and support the Saxon and surrounding residents – where are they? – what have they done?, what are they going to do?….
I have been actively involved with residents, Saxongate, Fenland District and Cambs County Council since the first reported incidents in late 2017/early 2018.
Someone will be knocking on your door electioneering… (and it won’t be me!)

County Council Sets Aside £59m For Road Repairs and Fenland Is Getting Its Share
So say The Fenland Citizen© Click Here – Countering arguments made by some of those electioneering.
Funding for Highways carried out by Cambs County Council, primarily is funded by Governments, so funding by the current government has been in place less than a year –
Who was in government before !
Over £59million is due to be spent on Cambridgeshire’s roads, pathways, bridges and rights of way this year including nearly £9million in Fenland.
Cambridgeshire County Council has set out how it plans to spend this money, including a list of roads that have been prioritised for major repairs in 2025/26.
£700,000 – Coates, Coates Road, carriageway resurfacing from The Fold to Minuet Gardens.
A full list of roads can be viewed by clicking the link at the top of the page.
Yes wouldn’t we all like to see much more money being spent on roads and pathways, as said Government and County Council are the ones to lobby.

Noise Issues 25th February In/Around Saxon/Snoots Road 04:00am
Please see below information.
1/ Further investigations have taken place into the reports of recent noise from Saxon Pit and it has been established that noise that took place this morning was overnight works by Network Rail and not anything to do with the waste operators at Saxon Pit.
I would be grateful if you could circulate this information, alongside the confirmation that I sent yesterday that the other reports of noise were also not to do with the waste operators at Saxon Pit.
Kind regards.
Deborah Jeakins
Manager, County Planning, Minerals and Waste
2/ I have contacted both of the waste operators working within Saxon Pit to make them aware of these allegations and both operators have replied.
EMWG have replied:
The generator that powers the weighbridge and office and external lights on the office is switched off at 17:00 every day and is not started up again until 06:30-07:00 in the morning Mon – Friday when the office opens again. EMWM do not work on the site at night.
EMWM were not working on the buttress on Sat 1 March so the noise at 07:00 was nothing to do with them.
Johnsons have replied:
I have double checked with the guys on site and can confirm that the early morning noise were clearly not us as we were definitely not running at those times. 1st and 2nd March we had had no-one on site.
They did confirm that the lights seen in one of the videos are from their site, but they deny that their site was responsible for the noise reported.
Both operators noted that the noise could have been from the overnight roadworks that were on the A605 in connection with the emergency water main repair and so is it possible that the noises heard by the complainant were from these works?
Without further information from the complainant (e.g. where they live, which way the camera was facing), and noting the information provided by the operators about other potential sources of noise, there is not enough evidence at this time to confirm that the noise and disturbance was from operations at Saxon Pit.
Kind regards
Deborah Jeakins
