Why is nothing ever simple – especially here in Whittlesey, having sent over 15 e-mails, to various people/departments and managers at both FDC and CCC, 5 phone calls – It took an e-mail to the Chief Executive at Cambs CCC from Whittlesey Town Council before I received any meaningful response.
Thursday, I by chance happened to see meet with a Mr. George Hay (Enforcement Officer – Highways CCC) who informed me he had been on the case for a couple of weeks !!!!!
After an hour of exchange of the issues and extremely poor communications from Cambs CC, he informed me, that ‘It was complicated’ (Health & Safety – No Permit – No Permission – No Licence !!!!) – Why – because the builders – roofers are from the ‘Travelling Community (Ramsey) and as such have to be dealt with slightly differently…….
I’ve told it as it is…..no more, no less…...
Today on passing I saw what appeared to be someone at the site – I couldn’t stop because of traffic…… Again I am on the case…..hours and hours…..
