WEFA – [Whittlesey Emergency Food Aid], which was orginally set up by then
Cllr (now ex Cllr) David Mason, has provided a ‘lifleine’ to many within our area.
Orginally based at The Christian Church, now operates from the rear of the Manor Centre.
With the planned closure and demolishing of the Manor Centre, WEFA have been given notice to vacate.
David Mason has been very actively campaigning for suitable premises, with no results.
Questioned at a FDC meeting, Leader Cllr Boden stated that ‘He’/Fenland would find alternative accomodation.
On a brief encounter yesterday with David, he informs me that the committee have all resigned [NOT retired].
There is a ‘new’ committee in place.
