The Rotary Club of Whittlesey recently enjoyed an inspiring talk from 17-year-old local up-and-coming darts player Mitchell Brightwell, who is now being supported by the club in recognition of his dedication and the positive example he sets for young people in the town.
The club is delighted to be sponsoring Mitchell, who, with five hours a day of practice and regular local, national and international competitions, is clearly a very motivated and inspirational young man. His dedication and work ethic are already setting him apart.
Mitchell is becoming a youth ambassador for the club and will be consulted on ideas and initiatives focused on young people. He is also hoping to attend some of the club’s charity events, where he will give talks and demonstrations.

Mitchell said he was delighted to be sponsored by Rotary and to be made a youth ambassador for the club.
He added that he was also lucky to have supportive friends and family to help him progress in the sport.

Club President Kevin Buckland said: “Supporting young people is key to our work in the community, and it is great to see a young man like Mitchell blazing a trail and putting Whittlesey on the map.”
Mitchell is still looking for two more sponsors if anyone can help, and you can follow his progress here:- (1) Facebook
