Making A Comment About A Planning Application

For local applications in Fenland go to FDC’s Website by Clicking Here

The Government says we can’t consider certain things when deciding a planning application. These are not ‘planning considerations’ and include comments relating to:

  • loss of property value
  • boundary disputes
  • trade competition
  • private matters between neighbours (e.g covenants, access rights or property damage)

You can comment about its:

  • scale, appearance or design
  • effect on the ‘amenities’ of local residents e.g disturbance, loss of light or privacy
  • impact on the character of the area
  • use, and whether it is appropriate
  • impact on highway safety or parking
  • impact on nature, conservation and trees. This includes the character and appearance in a conservation area
  • effect on the special architectural or historic interest of a listed building
You can comment even if it is not your application.

    Making a comment

Please view the application forms and plans on Public Access before making a comment. There may be a delay between the application being registered and the documents being uploaded.

You can email comments to [email protected]. Alternatively, you can write to the Development Services team at Fenland Hall, County Road, March, PE15 8NQ.

There is a time limit to receiving comments. It is at the Planning Officers discretion whether comments are accepted after 21 days of consultation.
