Myself and a few other Whittlesey (and Ex WTC) Councillors attended and paid tribute to todays memorial celebrating the 80th anniversary of the ending of WWII.
I attended as an ex Merchant Navy Officer (28 years and 1 Million Nautical Miles)..
Good to meet briefly with ex Soldier David Davies, who like myself has not been well lately.
I was very humbled to have the Mark Knight come and see me to say hello he was awarded an MBE in 2007 for services to Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire in 2019.
