One item that came out of a recent meeting was the reasons why GP’s are not seeing so many patients – face-to face.
Recommended levels of safe contact by the European Union of General Practitioners and the BMA which is that to deliver safe care there should be no more than 25 contacts per day.
In October 2015, the GPs of this practice were carrying out 30 contacts in the morning, they had pre-booked and face to face contacts and the afternoon was full of booked face to face.
Besides there being a national shortage of GP’s which make recruiting even more challenging.
