Peterborough is a great deal different than we in Fenland. I give acknowledgement that Cllr Chris Harper (Peterborough-Stanground South) is probably one of the hardest working Councillors I know within The Unitary Council. He like myself is very passionate in his area.

Tonight he has resigned from the Conservative Party and has …..crossed over to being an Inpependent….. something I do no always agree with, half way through the term, either you stand Independent or you go back to the electorate and get them to mandate your change….
Anyway I hope and wish Chris Harper well in his ‘new neutral color’

Deja-vu – some old hands will remember one of our senior Councillors Martin Curtis had similar issues at Fenland District Council – Martin resigned but has never crossed the floor.
