Clothing Recycling Container Update…..

From Mark Mathews, Head of Environmental Services, Fenland District Council.

You will be aware that following changes in the market values of textiles, the Salvation Army have decided to reduce the number of locations where it offers textile recycling banks significantly, withdrawing their banks from many local sites.

We have therefore been working with other suppliers to see if we can cover these locations on a short-term basis.

As a result, you might notice that textile recycling banks in your parish move from being supplied by the Salvation Army to being either Pink Elephant or the Fire Fighters Charity. Both new companies have agreed to supply banks, collect the materials on a suitable frequency to reduce accumulations and recycle the textiles.

The banks will display contact details for the public should there be any issues.
