FDC – COVID News Update

Please see below some information you may wish to share in your communities;

Local COVID Alert Levels
Following an announcement from the Prime Minister on Monday, a new system of Local Covid Alert Levels has been introduced. From today, Local Covid Alert Levels will set out information for local authorities, residents and workers on what to do and how to manage outbreaks in their area, replacing the previous system of national and local restrictions. More information on this new system can be found on the GOV.UK website.

The current Local Covid Alert Level for Fenland is ‘medium’, which means that all of the restrictions and guidance that was previously in place will stay the same. You can find more information about the medium alert level on the GOV.UK website and a more general guide to each alert level is also attached.

Test and Trace Payment Scheme
We are now accepting applications for the Government’s Test and Trace Payment Scheme via our website. The scheme supports those on low income who have been told to self-isolate by providing them with a £500 lump sum payment. Residents who have been told to self-isolate but who do not meet the criteria for this support scheme can apply for a discretionary payment instead.
