Meet With Neighbourhood Police Team
Do you have concerns about anything you would like to raise with your local neighbourhood officers? Or perhaps you would like to hear about the work they are doing in your area?
If you answered yes to the above, then come along to our police surgery – your chance to meet with local officers and talk to them face-to-face.
If this is something you are interested in, we will be at The Buttercross in Market Street, Whittlesey, from 11am until 12pm on Monday (1 September).
We hope to see you there!
You can also raise any concerns with us via our community survey.
It is important to note that the survey is not a method of reporting incidents to us. Crimes can be reported by calling 101 or online.
If a crime is in progress, or someone is in immediate danger, always dial 999.

Neighbourhood Police Update
Parking and Speeding.
At recent community meetings residents in Chatteris and Whittlesey raised concerns about parking issues in the towns. A problem with speeding motorists was also highlighted.
As a result of these concerns, neighbourhood officers spent time in both locations issuing multiple parking tickets this week.
They also conducted speeding checks, but no offences were identified.

Very Poor Work – Cambs Highways (Again)
For quite some considerable time, some work carried out by ‘contractors’ for Cambs County Council, has not been good, in fact some say they are not fit for purpose….
Only this week highlighted on local TV News and the same excuses from the LibDeb portfolio holder for transport.
Below is an poor example along Blackbush Drove and again no excuse it not being a major road.

(Tar sprayed over 2 metres into the grass) (cracks still left for water to enter)

(More Tar damage – Crack again not filled in)

(Tar damaged and Pot Hole left?)
Plenty more photo’s.
I understand that after several complaints by a resident, and escalated by Cllr Laws and myself Highways Engineer has summoned the contractors to meet with him.
