Every day, our Force Control Room handles hundreds of 999 calls, each one a moment of crisis for the person on the other end of the line. But what happens after that call is made?

It’s a fast-moving process that involves careful assessment, prioritisation, coordination and teamwork — all happening under pressure and in real time.

A long 12 hour day for we volunteers helping out at this years BIG BASH and even longer for Robert Windle the event organiser, who happened to receive ‘Citizens of the Year’ award from Whittlesey Town Council, presented by The Mayor Cllr Alex Miscandlon.

Very well done Robert and very well deserved.

The Bower Footbridge is planned to be replaced later in July, we are receiving reports that it has recently become somewhat ‘wobbly’ I have travelled over it last Thursday and ot did shake a little, there are concerns about the safety – it has been reported to Cambs CC Highways as needing expecting with some urgency.

Don’t know whos idea it was to buy the (Known as the) Monastery on Market Street Whittlesey, on behalf of FDC – but perhaps they are not aware of ALL the issues with the state of the building.
Mr. Peter Grice who has owned it (more than once) for several years, has more or less given up on carrying out any further renovations.
(My understanding is costs involved)
So probably a wise decision…..
