It’s Monday Morning Parking Issues at Park Lane Again…..
Daily, Weekly, Monthly – complaints about inconsiderate parking outside schools,
we Councillors get it regularly, the Police get it regularly.
Be mindful that our PCSO’s/Police are not full time Traffic Wardens, they fit this in along other duties.
‘Words of advice’ you’ve heard me state before is not working.
The parents of said children are entitled to their say – but some parking blocking in residents and on juctions and bends is not being considerate.
So beware there are ‘Tickets’ being issued.
In the case of Park Lane, they put out signage and cones – the vehicle above decides to park between the cones !!!
Below AJS Parking Ticket issued recently…..

Someone Asked !
With lots of Daffodils around the town and villages, someone asked who planted them.
Well many have been in situ for a long time, but during my chairmanship of Whittlesey StreetPride, we planted in excess of 250,000 bulbs (a lot of bulbs and digging).
The ones along the B1040 Thorney Road are not a SP project.
Most of the other Gateways were planted.
So what do 25,000 bulbs look like…..Here is my wife Connie sitting on top.
Over a number of years we had 10 such pallets.
For the whole project I got local sponsorship from shops/individuals and businesses.
I will state they we had some wonderful help from Kenny Carrington and The Community Payback Team
Another project I was instrumental in getting the funding for was the Ramsey Road Layby.
Now almost 10 years and still well used during the summer months and maintained by the Whittlesey SP Team

Ongoing Issues and Concerns Whittlesey Healthcare Services
I have in the past published on here – statistical information from The New Queen Street Surgery – where I am a patient and founder member of The Patients Participation Group (PPG). The last ones very very impressive in that NQS were above the national average in patients being seen (primarily healthcare staff not doctors).
Of late I’ve had more than usual number of people contact me about NOT being able to get to see “anyone” and below an extract I received yesterday of a lady who went to The Fitzwilliam and paid £106 for a consultation because she could’nt get to see anyone at NQS.
The lady experience at New Queens Street Surgery.
Apparently, feeling very unwell and has a known medical health history – called to ask for an appointment to see a GP. No appointment available – the lady said to the receptionist how unwell she felt and needed to see a doctor… the response was sorry we havent any appointment available.
The lady then decided to take herself off to Fitzwilliam Hospital and paid £106.00 to see a doctor immediately.
No Doctors !!!!! — No Patients !!!!! — No Appointments !!!!!
Picture take this week at NQS.
Below is a message sent By Jenner Health Centre.
I have quoted before and will repeat – I have every sympathy for the ‘staff’ at both surgeries, who have to answer the phones and deal with the public face-to-face, having to tell them day after day, the same – no apointments, ring tomorrow.
At NQS having a ‘Part – time’ Practice Manager can not help….3 days a week.
I have requested that the NQS be put onto Whittlesey Town Councils monthly meeting
agenda – Thursday 21st March 19:30
