Planning Application To Increase Waste Re-Processing @ Saxon

From The Saxongate Group.

Johnsons Aggregates & Recycling Ltd. New planning application to increase production CCC/24/091/VAR

Johnsons Aggregates & Recycling Ltd (JARL) have put in a planning application to increase production at Saxon pit. They wish to increase the Hours of operation, HGV Vehicle movements, Annual throughput of waste, Stockpile heights and the quantity of waste imported to the site, and make changes to the layout of plant, and to crush and screen IBA/IBAA and C&D waste.

We understand any move to 24/7 operation will not include HGV Vehicle movements.

Following a meeting with JARL on 17th July Saxongate previously advised its position on this application was as follows: –
Saxongate is reserving its position on that matter until more information is available. The potential of significantly enhanced mitigation measures was put forward. Any increase would require a planning and permit process along with public consultation. More details will follow in due course.’

Now a detailed application has been published we are currently reviewing the information to develop our response. The deadline for any public submissions is the 09/10/24.

We encourage anyone interested in this situation to join our mailing list where we can share more detailed information and give regular updates. Email [email protected]
