Breaking @ 14:15 Flood Alert – Please Take Note.

A flood warning has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood warning in force: North Bank Road alongside the River Nene, East of Peterborough and west of Dog-in-a-Doublet Sluice

Flooding is expected for: North Bank Road alongside the River Nene to the east of Peterborough and the West of the Dog-in-a-Doublet Sluice

High river levels are expected to cause flooding this evening.

Flooding is expected from the evening of 16 November 2025.

No further rainfall is forecast, however river levels are expected to remain high due to tide lock.
During periods of high tide the River Nene will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions.

This is likely to lead to localised flooding of the North Bank Road, between Peterborough and Rings End.
Whilst this Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media.

We are closely monitoring the situation.

Please do not drive through floodwater as bow waves may affect adjacent properties.

This message will be updated by 9:00PM on 16 November 2025 or as the situation changes.

WTC Report #2 WTC Full Council Meeting.

My apologies (again) both Cllr Wainright and myself have been somewhat very busy and has taken some time to compile and edit this report.

Please remember these are ‘Notes’ taken – they may contain some mistakes and the official minutes will be issues by WTC.

Well – Well – Well – Almost Made It…..

For more than 10 years, I and a team have supported The Whittlesey Rotary – Life Sciences Quiz, this year we’ve moved up to 2nd place at last nights event at the Indoor Bowls Complex.

A very good night had by all and raised over £900 for the charity.
(The Life Sciences do visit our local schools).

Our Team – (The Independents) came a very credible 2nd place – best we’ve done.

Another Job Well Done –

As I said yesterday and on many occasions, challenges are brought to some of ‘us’ Councillors 7 days a week….I suppose thats part and parcel of being an elected representative (By less than 30% of the electorate).
Yesterdays challenge in respect of a tree, which had blow across the Bower Tow Path.

My thanks to (not feeling very well) Cllr Chris Boden who got on the case asap of when I forwarded the issue to him.

I can only presume that a team came out and sorted it, as of this morning when my research assistant (Connie) went to take photo’s for me.
