Weeing On The Weeds !!!!!
I hear that –
The chemical weed treatment program for the county commences from 24th June 2024, this however is weather dependent, once the treatment program has commenced, we will publish the schedule on the Cambridgeshire County Council website.
If it goes like most years….the guy travels that fast, and the ‘squirter’ pointing everwhere except on the weeds, the result being if lucky some ugly looking ‘Browned Off Weeds’
(Remember no treatment last year)

Today @ Whittlesey War Memorial
Myself and around a hundred or so, watched the Royal British Legion (Whittlesey Branch), hold a commemoration service for the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
I attended as a member of the public and was not part of the organisers or Council representatives.

I am proud to be a full member of the CAB and have been so for some 12 years.
Whittlesey Town Council financially support as do Fenland District Council.
Here in Whittlesey we have a professional advisor attend most Friday mornings.
You can get a vast amount of information and help by visiting the CAB Website.

Kings Dyke Nature Reserve Update
The reserve will be closed from Monday 3rd June to Friday 7th June inclusive due to preparatory engineering works taking place. The code on the gate will be changed for this period.
Thereafter the reserve will be closed on the following dates between 9:00am and 3:00pm for school visits.
June 10th
June 11th
June 14th
June 24th
June 27th
July 3rd
July 4th
July 5th
You will have seen from previous posting that the reserve will need to be closed for several months to allow stabilisation of the southern slope (to the right of the hide).
There has been a significant rotational slip following the heavy rain over the winter. This will take place from mid-July onwards (the precise commencement date to be confirmed).
We apologies for any inconvenience and be assured that the reserve will be re-opened to members as soon as we are able.

Whittlesey Festival Meeting Last Night
15 Partners attended last nights Whittlesey Festival meeting for updates on this years event.
Sunday 8th September
One major issue the Chair highlighted was that Whittlesey Town Council will not be financially supporting this years event.
Their application was refused.
I informed the group that the Finance & Policy Committee had made this decision and I was not part of that committee.
Funding for the event is still ongoing.
