Well documented in local press and media, the Ivy Leaf has been in a somewhat precarious position for a number of years, from the Police investigations,
(no prosecutions), various accusations about finances, and building consent for 3 houses to be built in the car park.
The committee/management at the time, pleaded that unless they could develop the land the Ivy Leaf would close…..fast forward and Covid issues probably did not help and we are informed now that the ‘Club’ will probably close down.
I am not a gambling man – but I’m pretty sure what will happen to the 100 year old building and its car park and land…..I’ve heard that there is already a local builder showing interest…..
