Visit To FDC-Peterborough CCTV Centre

My first visit to the new facility shared between Fenland & Peterbough this morning gave us a very interesting layout and facilities of the centre.

We were allocated individual time slots and plenty of time for questions.
I was shown an incident where 6 youths were openly trading drugs on one of the picnic benches on the Manor Field. Within 5 minutes of being reported (20:00 in the evening) several officers attended, all youths were searched and cautioned, of course the said drugs confiscated.

Several other Whittlesey Councillors have also attended.

Make The Date For Next Year…..

Proud and honoured to be part of another very successful group of Volunteers who organise The Whittlesey Festival, I am the only current Councillor to sit on their partners committee.
What a fantastic event we had this year, Andy S…. reckoned there was around £4 million worth or classic cars and motorbikes. Pity about the downpour at 15:10….but the rest of the day went very well.

Date for 2024 – Sunday 08th September.

New Agreement with Neighbourhood Watch

On Saturday we signed an agreement with the Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood Watch Association at the organisation’s annual general meeting.

The meeting was held at the Constabulary’s headquarters in Huntingdon, with Inspector Karl Secker and Robin Sutton chair of Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood Watch Association signing the eight-point agreement.

Included in the document were commitments to support and assist the association, nominate a strategic lead, provide a single point of contact, ensure contact with neighbourhood policing teams, provide information, consult and share information, as well as a commitment to promote the scheme.

Also present were Deputy PCC John Peach, Mayor of Huntingdon Phil Perse and Amanda Large Forcewide Watch coordination officer.
