Update – 10 Year Celebration of The Eastrea Centre

Good to meet with Proffesor Ford again who was the driving force to get the Eastrea Centre built, many obstacles in the way and financing eventually funded mainly by the National Lottery.

Cllr Dee Laws was there to officially honor Mr Pete Sennett who was a trustee of the Eastrea Centre and was very involved in getting the War Memorial placed in Eastrea.

Eastrea Councillors Bob Wicks and Barry Wainwright attended.

I am happy to have come back with 3 raffle prizes – thank you.
I am also proud to have been an original donor to the Eastrea Village Centre.

40+ years in the making, with many obstacles in the way…..(lets no go there).

(I am informed today that it initially started in 1945)

Today marks the 10 years since the Eastrea Village Centre opened – what a wonderful asset for the village and surrounding community.

Some you may recognise. I am on back row one with the pretty zig-zag pullover, 5th from the right ….(no face shown)

Good Interest Shown – Science & Tech Park

I spent some 1¾ hours at the Proposed Science Park exhibition put on at the Christian Church.
A very good through-put of residents, both today and yesterday I understand.

‘Most’ people were impressed and had positive feedback in what they had seen and heard from Mr. Rice and his team.

These are ‘very’ early stages for what could be developed on the Peterborough Road site.

We Need Your Views on Cybercrime!

Takes around 10 minutes if you have the time….

Along with our Cyberhood Watch partner, Avast, we are launching the latest Cybercrime Survey which will help us understand the impact of online crime and scams on our members. There’s also the opportunity of winning some very useful M&S vouchers!

Enter now

The findings of the survey will be used to inform the ongoing Cyberhood Watch awareness initiatives and draw attention to important topics which will help everyone protect themselves – and their loved ones – from cyber criminals.

The survey will close on Friday 15 December – we’d really love to hear your views and of course, we will load the report onto our website once it is available so you can take a look for yourself!

Thanks in advance for your support in the fight against cybercrime in the UK.
