Notice To Pondersbridge Residents

A part of Pondersbridge come under the Whittlesey South Ward, which I currently represent. Certain Planning Applications lay just outside our boundary, but have known issues with residents. This particular application coming under Huntingdon District Council’s remit. However all residents I would promote to make representation if they feel minded too.

Just a Small Mistake – Oops – Candidate Sends Out Letters Without A Stamp.

Clayton Payne, Workers Party candidate.
Here in Whittlesey By-Election and NE Cambs
for the General Election.

I am informed that Mr Payne has sent out leaflets/letters to the electorate without placing a stamp.

Many unsuspecting thought it maybe a ‘Fathers Card’ and therefor coughed up the £5:00 to have the leter delivered only to find it contained Mr Payne’s election bumph.

Some have contacted Mr Payne, who has ‘promised’ to re-imburse those out of pocket.

I wonder how many he sent out?

More Vandalism and Drug Issued Reported

Someone ….! will tell me that Whittlesey is no different to any other town…..
Well that maybe their opinion – not mine or many other tax paying/law abiding citizens.
We are told on many occasions that crime has been reduced – reported crime – I know being the Chairman of Neighbourhood Watch for 15 years that around 50% of crime goes unreported for various reasons, one being the difficulty in informing the Police.

We have another fantastic volunteer group – ‘In Bloom’ who have several projects around our town, have also been subjected to more vandalism yet again.
The entrance to the Manor Field being one.

Update # 1 Picnic Bench Goes Missing Manor Field

Investigations are ongoing – but ‘if’ you have any information, please contact me…
After lots of phone calls and running around I eventually found out that….

FDC removed it. They took it back to their yard because someone had injured themselves on what remained.

So from history – Vandalism has taken part from as long as anyone can remember.
The Manor Field is no exception.
This project was initiated by myself and I raised a substantial amount of money to get the projected up, running and completed with help from my Street Pride Friends.
From the very first week, dare I say our feral individuals were having a go.

Remember ‘they’ set fire to one and completely destroyed it.

The Picnic Benches have been repaired time and time again for people to enjoy.
Last year it was decided to stop repairing them until a better plan was in place.
Ex Cllr Simon Black was going to take on the project alas nil happened.

It is very unfortunate that someone has been injured, that is the reason for removing the Bench. There maybe other that will also need to be removed.

The ‘blame’ is simple – Vandalism on the Manor is regular and until the culpirits are caught they will spoil it for everyone.

I hope to have a meeting with all interested parties in the near future to seek a way forward.
