Aldi’s proposal for a new food store offers:
- A new , modestly-sized food store with a new sales area of 1315 m2
- Parking spaces for 127 cars, including six accessible bays, seven parent-and-child spaces, and four electric vehicle (EV) charging points
- Free customer car parking together with bicycle storage
- Between 30 and 40 full- and part-time local jobs
- Additional employment opportunities during construction and through the supply chain
- Attractive landscaping throughout the site to enhance its appearance
- A high-quality design that offers a contemporary shopping experience
Aldi, the award-winning discount food retailer, is proposing to develop a new discount food store in Whittlesey. The proposals would see land at Eastrea Road developed into a new Aldi store.
The plans would introduce a brand-new discount store to Whittlesey, reducing the need for customers to travel to other stores to complete their grocery shopping.
The proposals are at an early stage and no planning application has YET been submitted to Fenland District Council.
Aldi would like to hear your views regarding their ambitions for a new store in Whittlesey, which could be open as early as 2023.
