Christopher Fitzjohn Has Died

Chris Fitzjohn passed away this morning December 27th, he was I believe 74.
He had been in poor health for a number of years.
Although many classed Chris as a ‘traveller’ he was not officially classed this way, his
extended family was though.
Brought up locally, he lost an eye early in life, his grandfather ran a pub at Beggars Bridge called ‘The Falcon’ – Chris married into the travelling community and at times his children were visited almost daily by the Police, although no charges were ever brought.
I have known Chris Fitzjohn for close on 50 years and as I always said to people who were somewhat disingenuous about him – If you treated Chris with respect he would do the same to you and that’s all that most of us ask for….
