Poorly Written Press release Cambs Fire & Rescue.

In the headline statement from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, it says:-
For a Band D property this is an annual increase of £2.34, totalling £82.26 per year or £1.58 a week.

So is it £2.34 Million they are looking for?

The usual I am sorry to say ‘It is only ‘x’ amount per week/year.
Whilst I commend all our safety and rescue services, year on year we the paying public get the same arguments on ‘efficiencies‘ and cost savings – but we always end up paying more….

Maybe Not So Clever Fen Boy

Yesterday morning, our Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team were on patrol in the Elm Road area when a rider on an off-road motorcross bike was spotted speeding, pulling wheelies and trying to goad officers…

He may of had his face covered and his hood up but that didn’t stop us getting to the bottom of this matter.
Thinking he had one up on us by concealing his face, he just made us even more determined to find him after he decided to ride slowly past one of our police vehicles and smash the wing mirror before speeding off and pulling a wheelie.

The actions of that rider have now put a police vehicle off the road, yes that’s right, one less police vehicle to respond to your emergencies.
Our neighbourhood officers were determined to find him – and that they did! The 22-year-old was arrested at his home in Leverington and treated to a Sunday afternoon in police custody at the PIC, and yes they don’t serve roast dinner.
All in all, he was arrested for dangerous driving, criminal damage, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession of a weapon in a private place and driving without insurance, resulting in the bike being seized.
He’s been bailed while we carry out further enquiries.
If you’ve got information or concerns about anti-social driving, riding or vehicle nuisance, you can report via our website here 👉https://www.cambs.police.uk/…/vehicle-nuisance…/

Fen Cops @ Straw Bear

Like many of you, some of our neighbourhood officers were out and about in Whittlesey following the Strawbear this weekend!

We spent the day patrolling the festival, making sure that everyone was able to safely enjoy themselves. There were no issues that needed our assistance and everyone we saw was having a good time!

It was lovely to see so many people enjoying the nice weather and coming up to us to say hi. If you ever see us out and about at events such as these, don’t be afraid to come and chat to us.

We hope that all those in attendance had a fun day and didn’t get too cold!
