More than 270 weapons including large knives, knuckle dusters and swords were handed in as part of our amnesty last week.
Thank you to everyone who disposed of items – you have helped make our neighbourhoods even safer.
Some of the weapons, such as knuckledusters and extendable batons, are now illegal to own following a change to the law.
As well as the amnesty, officers visited numerous schools across the county, took part in extra patrols in hotspot areas and conducted weapons sweeps in an effort to locate any hidden items in public spaces.
